SUPERNATURAL EVENTS' GHOST TOURS ARE HEADING TO BLACKBURN!

Blackpool’s award-winning Supernatural Events is bringing its eerie investigations to Blackburn’s Thwaites Empire Theatre!

Supernatural Events has been presenting Ghost Tours, Investigations, Evenings of Mediumship and other paranormal-based events in Blackpool since Hallowe’en 2006. Now the popular sell-out ghost tours are coming to Blackburn; on Friday 13th November you could have the opportunity to investigate some of the “strange goings-on” that have been reported at the town’s very own Thwaites Empire Theatre.

The original building was designed as a cinema in 1910 and over the years has been used for many purposes. It has been known as the Electric Light Theatre, the Barn, the Empire, the Red Brick and Thwaites Theatre. Between 1997 and 2002 volunteers raised £750,000 to lovingly restore the theatre, and in October of that year the doors opened to the Thwaites Empire Theatre.

The theatre presents a wonderful eclectic mix of theatrical productions during the day and evenings, but what happens when the shows are over; when the audience, the cast and theatre staff have left for the evening; when the doors are firmly shut and locked; and the lights turned off? You can find out for yourself on Friday 13th November from 8pm to 10pm when you can take part in the first Thwaites Empire Theatre Ghost Tour and try to find out what goes on “behind the scenes” when you investigate the darkened auditorium, stage areas and some other locations where the public do not usually get the chance to explore during daylight hours never mind late at night!

Stephen Mercer, founder of Supernatural Events said, “I am extremely excited about the Thwaites Empire Theatre Ghost Tour. It is a beautiful theatre that has been cared for and loved by everyone in Blackburn and its surrounding communities. I have been fortunate to have wandered around the building when it has been closed and it certainly does have some wonderful areas for our intrepid ghost hunters to investigate. And what a fantastic date for a supernatural event to take place on – Friday 13th! For those who will be lucky enough to get tickets for this event, you will have a great time; for those that don’t get a ticket, don’t worry, there will be more tours here in 2010 when the theatre celebrates its Centenary.”

Thwaites Empire Theatre’s Chief Executive, Harriet Roberts says “A number of the volunteer staff here have reported some mysterious goings on and swear that there is a theatre ghost. It would be very interesting to find out whether in fact there are any supernatural energies to be discovered.”

Tickets are priced at just £10 and must be booked in advance. Call Blackpool’s Grand Theatre’s box office on 01253 290190, or book online at www.SupernaturalEvents.co.uk. Hurry though, places on Supernatural Events’ ghost tours do sell out quickly.
